To create the effect of Rubeus Hagrid being a half-giant, 2 versions of his hut were created – a larger version to make the other characters look small and a smaller version to make Hagrid himself look bigger.
To do this, the Production Designers used the mathematical concept of SCALE FACTOR to make Hagrid look bigger in proportion to everyone else. Scale Factor is the size by which we enlarge a shape.
